Hi friends
Can anyone advise of paint codes or colors to use for painting my robo armor? Preferably for the original robocop suit.

I've checked though the archive of threads and don't seem to be having much luck.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Simon

Thanks boss. I only see one paint named in the reading though. I know you mixed the colors, but I was hoping for more of the paint codes or names. The only places around here that do this kind of work are auto body joints, and I'm not confident enough in my own painting abilities to attempt it myself.

For the first film? The base coat wasn't actually paint, but clear gloss urethane mixed with aluminum powder. The rest of the colors were done the same way: pigment mixed with clear urethane and sprayed onto the suit.

The modern equivalent of those pigments are: Blue (6825), Yellow (6831), and Violet (6829).

The darker shades of blue are simply thicker coats, not a darker pigment. The green shades are from overlaps of the yellow and blue, in addition to the urethane itself yellowing over time/exposure. Modern materials shouldn't have the yellowing issue.

Silver: 1 tbsp aluminum powder to 4 oz. clear gloss, thinned/retarded as needed for spraying.
Colors: 2 drops pigment to 4 oz. thinned/retarded clear gloss.

Need anything else?

If you live in the states (continental United States), here's a link of my Facebook page of the ROBOCOP GROUP for DRAGON*CON 2014, but I also have it to help fellow fans to direct them here on robocoparchive.com.

Either way, this is my link to the paints I've used to retouch and/or paint my armor with. (Main silver used on the helmet and clear coating, both automotive grade, are not featured there).
