Double Bill of R1 + R2 TONIGHT in the UK

FYI for all UK fans:

The first 2 films are showing tonight as part of a rare double-bill on ITV 4.

Starting at 9 p.m. with “RoboCop 1”, finishing at 1:25 a.m. with “RoboCop 2”.

ITV 4 +1 will be transmitting both an hour later (from 10 pm — 2:25 am).

The second film is also scheduled to be repeated again this Tuesday night. The first was broadcast last week.

All we need now is for the network to buy a licence for “RoboCop 3” and the complete trilogy will be seen on the same channel.

Last time that happened was on SyFy here and it was great to see. Primetime/repeated exposure on premium digital (what you guys call cable in the U.S.).

With any luck, “The Series” might get picked up this year. Due a re-run and I’m trying to see who would be interested. Probably one of the CBS channels or the Horror Channel, given they’ve bought a number of cult science-fiction shows over the last year. Few that aren’t even recognised in the UK. Obscure.

I remember ITV did have the license for RoboCop 3 - it wasn't too long ago they were showing it. I haven't seen RoboCop 2 on the ITV network for years though - so maybe this is a new acquisition.
