New info provided:
Backers will receive the Physical Release of the 4-part Limited series (4.5 hours) with hours of Bonus Features.
Season 1 is on the first RoboCop movie.
Season 2 and 3 will follow from next year and original backers will receive those physical releases too.
This means that original backers will receive:
Season 1 Physical Release (RoboCop)
Season 2 Physical Release (RoboCop 2)
Season 3 Physical Release (RoboCop 3 and TV series)
There will be no additional costs for backers for receiving all 3 seasons.
As soon as we can update you, we will…
The Four episodes will be released in ScreamBox and Video On Demand (in the US) starting at August 29th. No release date for the Blu Rays/DVDs, so as some were afraid of, I assume it´ll be streamed before the backers get it.

Sad that backers aren't getting it first. It's going on a VOD service anyone in the US can sign up for. Backers who wanted a blu-ray of it have to wait months more to see it, maybe until next year. Plus Doc 2 and Doc 3 are still years away. It's great that we're finally seeing Doc 1 get released, but the way it's being released and the timescales are still going to annoy a lot of people. _________________

We could speculate about how they´re going to make it in two ways: the first is they´ll give us the backers the whole package, which means we´d have to wait to next year or more (I think they said the third doc could came in two years). The second, which I´d found strange, is to give the backers "RoboDoc 1", and then shipping the rest when they´re done. In that case they´d have to pay twice for the shipping. In both cases the streaming company gets it first.
I waited 6 or 7 years for it. At this point, it doesn´t matter. The problem for me is what I already said here and on social media: once RoboDoc will be available to stream, I´m sure webpages will include clips of it as promo articles, and people would upload big chunks of it on social media. It´ll be difficult to avoid getting "spoilers" (if we could call that this) for it. The best solution would be giving the backers a digital download (or a code to watch it online) the same day it goes to streaming. Plus, as I read somewhere, ScreamBox only operates in the US, so the rest of the planet couldn´t get it unless another streaming service buys it. The guys behind RoboDoc, being from UK, should´ve thought a little about how to deal with all that stuff.
Anyway, I can understand some of the recent negative feedback. The lack of updates to the backers (and the rest, really) was off-putting.

Why would they? This product was not not made for the fans. That has been clear nearly every step of the way. I don't understand why these people would spend so much time getting everyone who worked on RoboCop together for a 4 hour documentary but continually leave let biggest supporters down, and yet that's what they've done. It seems like maybe they couldn't get a deal for a proper streaming release in order so just gave up and gave in to whoever would give them whatever money they could get. I was blocked from their facebook page for accusing them of being disrespectful. At this point I don't have much desire to support this project, and sadly it does not seem this will be a successful product for them either.

I´ve seen a bunch of their recent posts not allowing comments, so I think you´re not the only one who´s pissed I was pretty excited for this project when it started, but I´ve been waiting for that so long and we´ve seen so little information or updates over the years that I think I don´t care too much anymore. It´s great it´s getting done and such, but each update just delays the stuff the backers should get, so we´re not in the priority list.

Not sure if I´d say that, but it feels we´re not treated too right. And I see what happened, the thing went bigger than they thought (bud sadly not that big to include some segments related to Alpha Commando, comics and PD) and they had to rework stuff. It´s ok, but when you see updates for other documentaries from them, or even having recent ones finished before this, it feels off. They should have found a way to get more people to help editing the thing and move things fasters. I know it´s easier to say than do it, but after 7 years it´d be good to finish this one instead of working on new ones...
According to some other sources, RoboDoc (1, I assume) will be released on October 17th as a two-disc release by Screen Media. It even has a pre-order link on Amazon, but I won´t take that for sure, since some new "leaked" info has been debunked by the makers. In the UK Kaleidoscope will distribute it on December:

https://bloody-disgusting.com/movie/3775706/robodoc-the-creation-of-robocop-four-part-docuseries-premieres-august-29-on-screambox/
SCREAMBOX Original four-part docuseries RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop will premiere on August 29, Bloody Disgusting is excited to announce this week. New hour-long episodes will follow weekly through September 19 on the BD-powered SCREAMBOX.
Featuring exclusive insight from stars Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Ronny Cox, Ray Wise, and Kurtwood Smith, director Paul Verhoeven, writers Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner, special effects legend Phil Tippett, and more, RoboDoc offers an in-depth look at the making and impact of the trailblazing 1987 dystopian action classic.
Part man, part machine, all cop, RoboCop burst onto the scene as the cinematic landscape began to shift and artificial intelligence was capturing the public’s imagination. The boundary-pushing film spawned an unlikely franchise that includes two sequels, an animated series, and a Hollywood remake, along with comic books, video games, toys, and merchandise galore.
RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop is co-directed by Chris Griffiths and Eastwood Allen and produced by Gary Smart. The trio previously collaborated on Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story, Pennywise: The Story of IT, and You’re So Cool, Brewster: The Story of Fright Night, all of which are available on SCREAMBOX.
Episode one, “Destination Delta City,” streams on August 29. Orion Pictures assembles a magnificent cast and crew who, unbeknownst to them, have signed up for a turbulent and career-defining ride.
Episode two, “Verhoeven’s Mantra,” streams on September 5. Notoriously demanding mad-genius director Paul Verhoeven pushes the envelope and many people’s buttons with the unprecedented shooting conditions.
Episode three, “Blood, Sweat & Steel,” streams on September 12. The resilient cast and crew relive the golden era of hands-on, practical filmmaking in the 1980s.
Episode four, “Murphy & The Machine,” streams on September 19. A cinematic icon is unleashed to the world, creating an indelible legacy with lasting memories for those involved in its production.
“We’ve crafted something together to incorporate visuals and sound in an effort to immerse viewers into the world of ’80s filmmaking and offer something completely unique to the ‘making of’ format,” explains Allen.
“As a fan of RoboCop for the past 30 years, this project has been a labor of love for me, and I can’t wait to share this unique project with the fans, especially those who have stood by us all these years,” adds Griffiths. _________________ http://robocop2directive5.blogspot.fr/

That link says October 17th for me, where did 18th December come from?
Either way, if I can get my blu-ray of it this year that would be a nice gift for me, as October 17th is close to my birthday and 18th December is close enough to Christmas! _________________

Amazon´s says October 17th, and sometimes they put estimated dates and not the final ones. The December date was on Blu Ray News/Reports websites.
