Does anyone watch the tv series “Manifest?” I really like that show; I’m still trying to understand what the “Callings” are. I had also liked a show called “ The Crossing” but it got cancelled after a few episodes.

I watched all the episodes of Cabinet Of Curiosities on Netflix. A versatile mix of horror and sci-fi. For fans of Twilight Zone, Tales From The Crypt, and Black Mirror.

So a little while back I ended up getting into the fan editing scene. There are lists of fan cuts out there if you have the effort in you to find them. But a lot of obtaining "links" is joining the forum and PMing the editors directly.
Ended up watching 9 different cuts of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and my brain has fully immersed itself into the unsolvable conundrum that this pos movie is. Specifically how I will create my own edit somewhere down the line. Because of how my mind works, I move from hyper fixation to hyper fixation. Ya know, pumping something completely dry of it's essence and leaving a husk behind that I will never return to. I've long ago accepted this.
But for sure, for better or worse, the new obsession is god damn Crystal Skull. _________________ All of humanity is of my creation. They are all the ways I could have lived my life, but didn't. All the possibilities I missed. The reason for their existence is to give contrast to my ego.

Saw "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" last night. It's pretty good. Definitely not the best the franchise has to offer, not by a long shot, but not a bad movie by any means. The CG is downright jawdropping at times.
Glad to see the franchise keep on going successfully. One of the few franchises that, in my opinion, hasn't had a true dud.
Also FINALLY saw "Godzilla: Minus One". Absolutely loved it! Rarely have I cared for the human characters in a kaiju film, I'm still amazed how invested I was in them this time around. _________________ Anything you post can be used against you!

I stuck the '86 Transformers movie on to show my other half the other day and I think she enjoyed it. Well, I did, and that's what really matters.
I also watched Sin City which I haven't seen in a few years. It's mental to think it's twenty years old; I remember getting a bit of a chub when Hartigan rolls over from his prone position with an Auto-9 in hand and proceeds to use it with Robo levels of accuracy. Rewatching it kind of makes me want to watch A Dame To Kill For but I remember it being a pile of ass so the jury is out on that one.
Man, twenty years. Where'd the time go?

Latest flicks I saw at the theatre were "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" and "Paddington in Peru".
Sadly, they couldn't be farther from each other - while Sonic 3 is easily the best in the trilogy and (mostly) learns from the mistakes of the first two to the point where I'd say it's probably in the Top 5 (maybe even 3) video-game movies out there, Paddington 3 is a terrible downgrade from the first two (which, admittedly, set a VERY high bar). It's an OK family film, but yeah... knowing how good the first two were, this one just felt dull (but I did love the mid-credits scene). _________________ Anything you post can be used against you!

I've just finished the final season of Cobra Kai.
I'd heartily recommend it to anyone who'll listen. It's an 80's movie/show dragged through time and plonked I to the 21st century.
It's cheesy, it has some great action, and best of all it's a fun watch.
STRIKE FIRST. STRIKE HARD. NO MERCY.

Cobra Kai dragged on a bit too long for my tastes. The majority of the characters suffered heavily from idiot syndrome and the entire thing would've been over in a single season if they'd just talk things out (hence, I guess, why the final season kind of caught me off guard).
That being said, I'm sure that people who are bigger fans of the Karate Kid movies than I am, appreciated all the little details and fan service sprinkled throughout the show. A lot of it worked even for me.
I do feel though that, at times, the show was unnecessarily brutal/vulgar. A bit too much cussing for my tastes.
One thing I absolutely loved about it though? The score! It had been years since I'd REALLY wanted to go out and buy the score to a new movie or show, but, man, did the music in Cobra Kai get to me! _________________ Anything you post can be used against you!

Don't be a pussy!
In all seriousness I get what you're saying. I think most films and shows could be sorted if they just talked and hugged it out, but I think the idiot syndrome is a very fair point. That's the fun of it though, it's quintessentially 80's, goofy, campy, but refreshingly fun. There's no ulterior motive, just a guy looking to get his life back on course through the medium of Karate, and the story of the friends and family he made along the way.
I think that's what I enjoyed about it, it was just easy to watch and I felt it didn't outstay it's welcome, what with each season only being ten episodes at around thirty minutes each.
'93, I respect the hell out of you, but there only one way for the two of us to settle our differences, and I think you can work out how.

Karate showdown it is!!
My main gripe with some of the stuff like the potty mouths, the bikini wedgies, etc is that it stopped me from watching it with my niece, who, otherwise, I think would've been into it.
Johnny's story was easily the highlight of the show, but a lot of the things that came along the way were also great (usually related to the adult characters though). A lot of the teen drama overstayed its welcome for me. But the fighting was (mostly) bad ass! _________________ Anything you post can be used against you!
