| Rick : | Richard Eden has posted a photo of himself at the 1987 RoboCop cast group photo. He said he'd love to join Dan Stevens and Peter Weller on the new show. Did he just accidentally reveal Weller is going to be in it in some form?

Wouldn't that be something? I'm getting a bit excited here but I know I shouldn't be. Funny enough, Dan Stevens mentions Weller in this small interview:
https://screenrant.com/robocop-series-prime-video-humor-violence-tease-dan-stevens/
Is it a typical "original actor approves" name drop, or could it be Eden has indeed let something slip? Maybe Stevens is actually playing that Marc Kyle character and we're getting a bit of misdirection.
More importantly, I think I see a our own Adam poking his head over the top there.

"In an interview with ScreenRant's Ash Crossan, newly-cast RoboCop actor Dan Stevens explained how this new TV show’s humor and satire were the main things that drew him to this upcoming project, which Weller insisted be retained. ... the satire that Peter wants to preserve from the original. "
"Weller insisted be retained"?
"Peter wants to preserve from the original"?

That would lead to several thesis. From this dude meeting with Weller to (kind of) having his approval with a chat, to the media trolling to avoid spoilers (what if he´d play that Soldier and Weller the original?) or to crazy situations, like a series where you jump in time, so he´d do a younger version while Weller would work on the "future/current time" one.
Don´t know, it´s too early to have something solid. I´ve seen some short interviews with Stevens about the project and I kinda like him. He doesn´t look like the typical "badass/can do everything/arrogant" like Kinnaman, plus he admited it´s impossible to do the same the original did. So at least he didn´t piss on the 1987 like Oldman did back in 2014. That´s something.

I've had a thought that may be a case of me jumping the gun.
The showrunner is Peter Ocko, so I'm guessing that's who Stevens was referring to. That doesn't explain the whole Eden thing unless it was just the phrasing he used.
I blew my load too quickly. To be fair that's now the third time I've done so in all my years of being on this planet so I'm content with it.
Sorry guys.

Richard Eden has replied to my comment -
"I believe Dr. Weller is a part of it. I'd love to join him, as I'm sure the other Murphys would. For me, a cameo would be fine." _________________

While I think cameos from previous actors would be cute, I´m not sure if it´d be distracting. I meant, you´re digging the plot and BLAM! Weller appears as "OCP executive 12". Wouldn´t it be distracting to see the original Robo on it? It would be a cute nod to the original, and watching Eden in there would be nice, but not sure how the reaction could be. I´m sure for the casual viewer wouldn´t mean anything, as they probably won´t know who these guys are, but for the fans...
