Archive : | I agree but I gotta say do like the concept and idea of it. It certainly go hand in hand with the freaky and nightmarish Frankenstein type of story that they intended. It is a quite disturbing thought and i think most of us rather keep believing that it is Murphy's full head.

That does open up an interesting "doctor who" concept in which RoboCop could potentially now and then get a new face after getting badly damaged, and as such switch face/actor as part of a TV series story. |
Great points, Archive. You're right in that it definitely adds to the nightmarish element of it all - your face being removed and plastered over that of a machine is pretty horrific.

Hahah.. As I've actually seen Archive's face, that would be very crazy and creepy..
Anyway, another excellent video. Certainly a bit longer than the others but I still thoroughly enjoyed it, which is saying something as I do know all this already, but I feel it is good to show it and and acquaint casual fans and wonderers with these facts and concepts.
Of course, excellent editing by Archive and excellent narration by Dash. I goota say J, you do an excellent job with the video and music. I found the portion in R2 with the lawyer quite chilling with that piece of R1 music. Very nice. The inclusion of AMDS' RvsT clip and the end with Johnson were nice touches.
I look forward to the next video. _________________ I don't wanna pay that, PhotoBucket. Now maybe you haven't heard, but I'm the guy in old Archive. So hows about you just shit snow for a year and I'll figure out something else. Sayonara!

Thanks Stan.
Making these videos have certainly been a challenge but i feel it also helped me get better at editing and pacing. Before i was always afraid of having a video being too long and dreaded long "boring" and slow parts. These fact and fiction videos have made me slow everything down more and let scenes play.
I'm particularly proud of all the transitions, especially in the third episode. The fence transition about half way in is pretty cool if i may say so.

Once again, awesome episode. Thanks guys!
Reading the materials leading up to Man & Machine made me realize of how little there is of Murphy, organically. Yet, his humanity remains such a dominant factor in Robocop.
For the longest time, I completely misunderstood the meaning "total body prosthesis." I imagined that Robocop was literally a human body covered with armor. I somehow made an exception for the right arm because it got shot off completely with Murphy's death, and technicians can replace it with an arm that wields the spike. I find it strange now how all the mounting evidence to the contrary didn't change this idea of mine. It just made me feel disturbed seeing Robo getting amputated many times!
This episode helped solidify that what's left of physical Murphy in Robocop is not much--perhaps a spine, some skin, and not even a whole brain. But that is what there is that makes Robocop so..human. Murphy is barely tethered to existence inside this colossal machine! So it's a very important part of Man in this Machine.
I think this episode could be an eye-opener to anybody who originally thought as I did.

Nice episode, and I like it a lot. Well edited and narrated. Agreed about the Johnson scene applauding at the end, I got a good kick out of it. _________________ - Robert
