Finally I had a free time to watch the vid in quietness !
You made stunning work again boys ! Dashs voice is surely nice change and good choice after Mephi. I always love all the effect and transformation between scenes or picts, also nice touch with the mix at the ending of the episode ! ( Hey Archive, mayb you should try to do a Robocop trailer. You have made so many nice videos I bet you would do great work and I have no fear to say that better trailer than the last one from MGM . )
Archive : | So until i can muster the courage to take it on and make it visually interesting enough, the next episode will focus on "The soul of Murphy"
Basically look on what parts of him that are still human and what is machine. Does the helmet have any use except protecting his head? Is it Murphy's real head and face? Can you kill Robo by shooting at his mouth? Stuff like that. |
This will be probably the most interesting and part of the series coz this are always most frequently questions on internet and at all.
And if your courage will be too high you could put to the part also questions of type ... Could be Robocop eat something other than just the baby food ? If he can eat then he must also drink something, maybe only water. Of course we know that the food for the Robocop is rudimentary paste ( oh yeah everybody know as the babyfood ) but we never seen him eat it or something, except the novel from Naha. After the fight with Ed209 in R1 when Lewis brought to him the babyfood he says " Thank you I am not hungry ". Hmm insteresting. If he is not hungry after a big and exhausting fight there comes question, how often he should eat.
Or if the Robocop can breathe. That easy. After all the operations his face still has nose, he has human brain and it needs oxygen. .. and etc etc questions of something like these .
Oh yes, Robocop is too complicated to explain everything but it is also the thing what do the character so great and interesting .

My biggest question is aside from Murphy's brain and skin, what else is real? As Nika had stated with the "I'm not hungry" quote, it makes me wonder if he still had a stomach or if Robo was just being funny lol. I get why he needs food. My question is how does he eat it? It's even mentioned in the script (pg 84, scene 394) that he eats baby food... presumably like a normal human being?

POCOBOR : | About the outtake at the end. I can't find this on the DVD. ~~ I looked for it on the 20th Ann. Edition. |
I assumed it was but unfortunately it's not on the 20th DVD release.
Find it on the MGM trilogy release that was done around 2002, where a "Director's cut footage - Production footage" video is among the deleted scenes.

I wouldn't mind seeing an episode on the internal workings of Robo.
As we know, you never really see any internal parts of Robo, the most being during the second film. Maybe we could look at some of the extended universe (Comics, The Series and even, ugh, Prime Directives).
There is a page in the Avatar Press graphic novel where you see the skeleton of Robo, internal armour, his nerve system etc. You all get the idea but I will leave it to better people to decide...

Thats right, but you even forgot to mention about the blue print pages from the Japanese book .. http://robocoparchive.com/info/blueprint3.jpg but if this is legit and has a worth of course. Sometimes is nice to not know everything about a character, that is what do the hero more mysterious and maybe also the creators did not know how explain or dont want reveal everything .
You could include to the third episode another most discussted topic " Does Robocop feel pain ? "
Many questions there were also about his weight. Does Robocop really weigh more than half of ton ? " Or that is just something around 200kg ?, what would be more logical than one ton and as one of the goofs says ..."Robocop apparently weighs several hundred pounds, as demonstrated when seven officers struggled trying to lift him after he grabbed the high voltage contacts. Yet Robocop's weight never seems to be a factor when using various vehicles, i.e. police squad cars or the Harley-Davidson he commandeers to catch Cain."

Archive : | I was gonna have it be about RoboCop2 and all it's deleted scenes and all that, but i realized that since there are little or no footage to use, we're talking 4-5 minutes of just still images moving around, which would be tiresome to do, and perhaps boring to watch. |
Oh that reminds me, there's something I've been wondering about since I first visited the archive.
The scene in which Dr. Faxx meets Cain before he ends up in a hospital bed... is no footage of it available to us? I've tried looking so I'm guessing not, but I'd like to know for sure.
Of all the scenes that were cut from the second movie that's the one that interests me the most, as I always thought Faxx's decision to use Cain for her Robocop2 was really hard to consider at all plausible.
So I'd be really curious to see what that scene was like and (if it helps) would love to see it reinserted in a fan-edit. Failing that... is at least the script for it available? Or some more photos?
Anyway, with that said, great job on the videos, I particularly enjoyed the part about reloading as I'd often wondered about that myself (where Robo keeps his spare ammo). I'd never noticed the "palm ejected" ammo in Miller's comic and thus did not know about that. A pretty darn good idea, I'd say.

No there is no video of it, as is the case for many of the deleted scenes from RoboCop2. The scene was cut at an early stage so it's not on the workprint.
The scene can be found in the fourth draft of the Robo2 script however and is one of the longest of all the filmed deleted scenes. Ultimately it was deemed unnecessary though, and was cut to reduce the length of the movie.

Ah, the fourth draft?
I see... I'd really like to read the part concerning that scene. I don't believe that draft is found anywhere on the archive is it?
Would you happen to have a link to it? I've tried googling it, but it only turned up one jpeg of the first page from a thread in this board (in which it was put on sale, I think).

No problemo, here is the first part of it, I'll type up the last part later.
(this takes place after the scene where Robo drives by his wifes house)
INT. OCP PRODUCTS DISPLAY HALL - SALES OFFICE - DAY
FAXX, cool, beautiful, not a hair out of place, enters an office complex that overlooks a display hall. She speaks to JENNY, her administrative assistant.
FAXX
Good morning, Jenny. What have we got?
JENNY
General Gonzaga canceled, apparently there's been a coup. But there's a gentleman from the private sector interested in defense robotics.
FAXX glances out towards the show room and display floor, where Cain and Angie are staring at the weapons display.
JENNY
Here's his credit sheet
FAXX registers approval at the sight of Cain's credit form.
FAXX
He's certainly financially qualified
ANGLE - THE DISPLAY AREA - DAY
SUNLIGHT silhouettes FAXX' exquisite figure as she crosses a DISPLAY featuring an ED209 and various WEAPONRY.
CAIN and ANGIE stand at a full-size ROBOCOP STATUE. ANGIE looks FAXX over as she approaches; CAIN never stops looking at the statue.
FAXX
Hello, I'm Juliette Faxx, director of weapons marketing for Security Concepts.
CAIN turns and glances her up and down.
CAIN
Hello, Julie, this is Angie.
Angie dips in a half-assed curtsy. FAXX stiffens. Not her kind of people.
FAXX
Is there something i can help you with?
CAIN
(points to Robo statue)
Yeah, that.
FAXX
(smiles)
I'm afraid that's something we're unable to accommodate.
FAXX gestures at smaller prototypes of ROBOT WEAPONRY
FAXX
But we do offer an impressive line of robotic security systems. The auto-gatling series, for instance--
CAIN
(point to robo statue)
Why'd you only make one?

Seems good so far... though I've got to say, I'm surprised Cain managed to get an appointment... and without using a false identity even! Maybe that's another reason the scene was cut
Anyway thanks, I'll eagerly wait for the rest!

Final part:
----------------------------------------
FAXX
There is a RoboCop 2 program currently in progress. But sales will be limited to police and military authorities of select foreign governments.
ANGIE
Guess you have to own a country to get a RoboCop, honey.
CAIN
(nods)
Yeah. Get somebody on it. Somebody with an accent.
ANGIE makes a note in a filofax.
CAIN
Where are you getting the brains?
FAXX
(stunned)
what...whatever are you talking about?
CAIN
Brains. Only way to make smart robots. He's got one, a cop--
(snaps fingers)
ANGIE
--Murphy, Alex J.--
CAIN
--got gunned down in the line of duty. It's in all your computers.
FAXX
Are you saying that you accessed out data banks?
CAIN
I got people who do that.
He points at a display of RoboCop's statistics.
CAIN
Angie, what's that say?
Angie whispers the text into his ear. Cain sees FAXX smiling.
CAIN
I don't read. I got people who read.
FAXX
You seem to have people who do almost everything.
CAIN
Not almost.
(he is again attentive to Angie's whispering)
No. He can do all that?
(To Faxx)
Got to say, I really envy old Murphy, Alex J..
When you make another one, put my name on it.
FAXX' EYES narrow as CAIN exits with Angie. A SUDDEN BEEPING and FAXX produces a POCKET PAGER, brings it to her ear.
FAXX
Yes. I'll be right along.

Aaaand... that's the clincher. Hearing him tell her that would have made Faxx's choice much more believable.
I wonder if this was the part when he places his head against the Robocop statue... or maybe that could be when he asked where they get the brains.
Also, Cain meddling with OCP's computers can easily explain how he got his appointment. Now I really wish this scene had made it into the movie.
Archive : | (after this the failed prototypes scene follow) |
Oh? I would have thought that'd be before Faxx found the perfect candidate (though of course at this point she still has to look into his data)
Thanks again for typing this up!
By the way, since we're talking of a scene set in the museum, does a clear shot of the flying drone (the one with two propellers) exist? I really like it. Looks like OCP's own Aerial Hunter Killer. Too bad the arcade game featured the one with a pair of ski as a boss.
EDIT:
Hey, hold on a second... there's no mention of nuke throughout all of that. So how does this shot fit in??
A last minute addition? (Or should I say addiction? )
