"Chris Pine is rumored elsewhere to be first choice to play Alex Murphy/RoboCop, the police officer who is killed whilst on duty and brought back as man/machine hybrid. However an inside source of "movie-moron.com" in Hollywood is saying it’ll actually be ’Dexter’ star Michael C. Hall. Call this a 75% likelihood of accuracy. Personally, I hope it is true because he is the much better fit."

You should just keep all of the casting rumors in one thread, instead of just making a new one every time a new one pops up. I'm pretty sure there will be plenty more.
I think between Chris Pine and Michael C Hall, I'd rather have Hall do it, just because I think he's a better actor. And even physically, he just seems more "suited" for it.

Well Dexter's already been approved by us, so I'd say go for it.
Unfortunately it may just be another in a loooong line of rumors that will continue for some time until we get official word.

Well, now I'm wondering if Weller has now evolved from his nut-kicking, fan-pissing phase and is now covertly trying to help us get a good Robo film for once. And since he's been on Dexter.. Hmm.. Happy conspiracy time!  Of course, he could still be the same and is just fucking with us..
Bah, seriously though, this is cool, but since it's a rumor I won't get too excited. BUT I will say this is the first time in years I've been happy about Robo news.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Maybe he's finally gotten to the acceptance phase, where he now realizes Robocop is the greatest thing he will ever be a part of. And even though he was replaced in the 3rd movies and series(which no one really cared about), the remake is going to take some attention off of him and put the limelight on someone new. Plus he's getting older, so maybe he's softened up a bit. Who knows, but I hope he's involved in one way or another to see out the legacy.

Mr. Hall looks more "Murphier" than Mr. Pine. He looks more as a good man (as Murphy is) than a pretty boy.
Go get them Murph!
And i have the same thinking about Weller - i think he's enjoying this new phase, as the almighty and true original RoboCop. And he's all welcome to be next to us, fans.

Personally, I've never seen a single episode of Dexter. Can't say that I've had HBO in a decade. So, I've no opinion. I think the only thing I've seen Him in was GAMER.
He was good in it. But I have absolutely nothing to offer than...
Chris Pine just doesn't sit right with me. But Michael C Hall looks more like the kinda guy we need behind the Titanium mask.

Yeah and he didn't even shine in gamer and he was still real good. He put on some southern accent  . Southern accents sound great when they aren't put on. Check out some Dexter Sean. It's on showtime or any free internet vid watchin place. If you thought Michael C. Hall was good in Gamer you'd probably really like him in Dexter.

Dexter for me is hit or miss. I haven't seen the last two seasons, but some of the others I liked and didn't. You can tell you haven't seen it though, as it was on Showtime and not HBO(not picking on you, just saying). But yeah, if you've only seen him in Gamer, then I wouldn't have much of an opinion either. That movie was pretty damn generic and forgettable in almost every way.
Chris Pine might be able to pull off the look to a degree, but as an actor, he really hasn't stuck out to me with the few things I've seen him in. Hall is a better actor and looks the part in my opinion. But I still think they should find someone else. Hopefully this all stays a rumor.

This sounds like a decent idea. Him playing a villain in genera seems pretty decent. I could also see him being a younger Dick Jones maybe.
