I really can't say I blame him for opting not to purchase it... if all I could find were the dozens of horribly painted, semi-broken figures I had to sort through to find a few good ones, I wouldn't want it either. _________________

I got one! Saw it in a shop and got it.
So yeah. Its not brilliant isn't it?
On my one
1) Helmet isn't on straight at the back.
2) Pretty sure the gun arm cant be removed.
3) Chest isn't on straight.
4) Classified.
5) One leg joint is longer than the other.
6) I cant spin the gun arm so Robocop is shooting gangsta at the moment.
To be honest though. Going to try to get into 3D modelling and do a Robocop, seems to be detailed enough.
Also got a T2 T-800 exoskeleton.

Scratch number 2. Overnight in a warmish house loosened it up a bit. Hastings is really cold.
Actually to talk about things I do like on it - I like the stiff joints, the paint job is pretty cool, the relative chunkiness of the model and the fact he can stand up. On his own.

I saw a bunch of them at a local store today. I found one that seemed to be in the best shape, but ultimately decided that 18 or so bucks was a bit too much for it. _________________

I know what you mean.
A shop near me sells it for £18 whereas I've seen it online for £10.
I'm all for supporting your independent retailers but £8 is quite a jump.

This figure is a lackluster P.O.S. Mine has a warped helmet, chest plate, and left leg. If you can get it to stand, he looks like he should be wearing a white glove, grabbing his crotch, and screaming 'chamon'!!

I always love this version of robo, even though I don't have any.
Maybe I'll browse toy stores and others, It's really hard to find anything robo related in my country.
And for no reason, my bank is not compatible with paypal, so no shopping on ebay...
Maybe I get lucky on stores around here
P.S.: I didn't know this version only had half a face.... I thought it had the complete face beneath the helmet  _________________

Anyone pick up the Battle Damaged version that's now available? Re-direct me, if I missed the post for this one.
Once again, quality control is a huge issue and I had to sort through several to get one with great paint apps.
This image isn't mine but there are several online, so you can check it out.

Do all of the battle damaged figures have silver paint around the neck/collar area where it should be black, or was that just a problem with the prototype?
If you could throw up some pictures of your one that would be great.

I was hoping it was just the prototype but I've seen quite a few in hand reviews and pics of them in the stores and they all have the silver collar. It's sad that NECA dropped the ball on the 7" figures. Thier big Robo is so awesome. I'm ready for the 7" with working gun holster.

I would have picked one up if it weren't for that.
I don't get this line from NECA. The 18 inch is great, a good size, a good face and it makes sounds damn it but the 7 inch ones are just bollocks. The paint job is crap, the helmet is crap and the worst part is on the battle damaged one the paint is the wrong colour around the neck.
Considering the 18 inch is so good (apart from a few wrong details) I don't get how NECA messed up so much. You would have thought they would have fixed any problems but they end up adding more.
I really did want this. I like the McFarlane one but the NECA has damage all over and not just on the chest and helmet. The problem is if I bought it I would glare at that collar every time I looked at it.
