Everyone involved with this has done SUCH a nice job.
With what I've seen from the current comics, this puts those to shame.
I hope to see more from this!

Hey J-Man and crew, have you considered incorporating any of the deleted scenes from R2? That one where Robo visits his own grave is the biggest missed opporunity of the whole series in my opinion. Perhaps a version of that where Robo stumbles across a tribute statue in some "forgotten" corner of old Detroit not yet demolished.
I also loved how in Half-Life 1, you would sporadically come across spray painted messages the military would leave you. Stuff like "Die Freeman!" or "Surrender Freeman!". Perhaps a few nostalgic Detroit citizens could scrawl up "Robo Lives" or something.
I don't know, my two little ideas. _________________ All of humanity is of my creation. They are all the ways I could have lived my life, but didn't. All the possibilities I missed. The reason for their existence is to give contrast to my ego.

Yes, that is absolutely the idea.
Although a miniseries would not revolve around the corporate wars story, but be a mix of a new story and various R2 deleted scenes.
I'm gonna wait until after the summer though to start planning this, potential, project. I think it would be hard to get people to commit to it during this time.

. And how about: Since RoboCop 2, the OCP tecnicans seek a way to break the "neural suicide problem" of the new models. When the OCP was sold, the new owners continue the research until make a better neuro-barrier chip (like that at the RoboCop 3).
. In the "off-line and store" period of RoboCop, new models gain the streets and make the job to allow the construction of the "plexies" (of the original script), the new live-stile of the citizens and the activation of the central computer of the city (MetroNet, maybe?).
. In a turn of the events (conspiration? Sabotage? Corporative competition? Central computer bug? Terrorist?) all the new units based of former officers (Lewis?) with the chip breaks a riot, bringing chaos.
. In this scenario, a only way to stop this... itīs enter in the central control and disable it. Now they must reactive the original RoboCop, the only unit which donīt have the chip!
. Itīs a little raw and crude... but is only a suggestion anyway. ^^
. (Sorry the bad english.)

That is a really interesting plot idea. The problem would be to easily tell it in a short format without using too much text and dialogue. That is really the challenge I've realised with this. To somehow keep it at a fast pace but still tell somewhat of an interesting story.

Thats also the problem with regular graphic novels that decide to be "silent" with the dialog. If there's nothing to read, then the audience with blow right through a whole book of visuals that someone sweated over to look nice AND tell a story.
That might work with this motion comic because you control how long the viewer is exposed to any given panel. The problem is how to best convey the story visually. Or minimally with the use of music and sound effects.
I'll have to watch your motion comic again, but there are a million ways to communicate vital information to the viewers with out lip syncing dialog. Police radios, regular radios, news broadcasts with anchors talking over footage, narration, Robo's HUD, etc. If you need any help, send me a PM.
After all, I did drop out of film school _________________ All of humanity is of my creation. They are all the ways I could have lived my life, but didn't. All the possibilities I missed. The reason for their existence is to give contrast to my ego.

Thanks, that is good advice. Yes, it's gonna take some creativity there to get a plot told without dragging it too much and having talking heads explain everything.

After viewing a lot of Marvel's motion comics, I might say that syncing mouth and audio isn't as big a deal as you might think. Plenty of these motion comics have character speaking without lips moving all the time. Marvel had realized your conclusion much earlier. And so far, it doesn't seem to pose a problem for the viewer.
I will say, that should you forego dialogue and stick with musically driven pieces of still animation, then you've severely limited yourself. Why not do both. Minimally, anyways. Might I suggest doing another short piece as a sort of screen test?
As for being artistically intrigued, I am. My desktop has been repaired (blow power source), scanner works again. I would love to contribute to this project, albeit, even in a small fashion. As I think Nika's work was stellar.
But I think, if you were to do the R2 deleted scenes, you're going to want that dialogue in there. Especially for the scene in which Robo and Lewis confront Faxx and Schenk about RoboCain.
I was so impressed by this video, that I must help in anyway I can.

Yes, I do intend on having some speaking parts. I check out some marvel motion comics and you are right Sean. It works just fine with no lip movement. I have seen some use a weird CG effect that moves the face around and syncs the lips to the voice. It looks pretty freaky and is more distracting than anything.
Anyway, the way I'm seeing it is that there is gonna be at least 4-5 major roles, and then some minor ones that probably could be made by the same voice actors.
It is of course RoboCop, but then also Anne Lewis, the CEO/old man, a villain. Add to that various unknown side characters such as bad guys, and I also want to include Ellen Murphy and ED-209.
Of course this is all a bit premature since there is no script yet, but I think as few BIG roles as possible would be ideal to keep this project sailing smooth. The danger is that 2 episodes in a important voice leaves and has to be replaced.

I'm gonna throw this out here so people can potentially sign up if interested. I will still not start officially until AFTER the the summer, but it is always good to test the ground.
There will be need for a lot of voices for this mini series. Big roles and small roles. I have roughly scripted the first two episodes. Should run about 5 minutes each.
So, who can and want to be involved doing VOICE ACTING?
** I want as little accent as possible as I'm aiming for it to sound basic American in tone.
** You need to have a recording equipment decent enough to provide great or good quality audio.
** There are three FEMALE roles in this. These will be tricky to cast. Help appreciated.

It's a great idea that you are throwing this open to the community.
Unfortunately I sound like a Brit. If the villain is a massive stereotype let me know.

Well, with a little bit of practice, I can pull out quite a few voices/accents when I need to... I had quite a few roles to do when I was at university!
I've been searching for the long lost R2 script, no luck yet _________________ http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/1060/klfjustifiedancient.png

I would love to have a small/medium sized role. I have a microphone and the proper recording software and such, I just need a new cord for the mic which I will be getting in a couple weeks, so I'll have everything well in time for this. If I could have some kind of minor recurring role that would be cool.
