Hello everyone.
I have had a conversation back and forth with the Rockstar company, the makers of such games as the Grand Theft Auto and Max Payne Series.
I have submitted an idea to the company that they should create and produce a new Robocop video game. It would have the style of the newer Grand Theft Auto games, third person, and extremely realistic.
We all know that the Robocop game that was put out by Titus was a complete failure, something that should have never even come into existence. I feel that it would be a way to bring some life back to the legacy of our great law enforcement hero.
I am looking for your feedback on this subject, to try and further convince Rockstar that they should put this game into production. We all know the great work that Rockstar does with their games, I mean, how many of you can honestly say you don't love Max Payne or GTA?
Your thoughts would be great, lets get this working.

I love me some Max Payne and GTA.
I'm not sure I would like a RoboCop game to free roaming, a more focused adventure like Max Payne would be better. But Robo can be quite hard to get right in modern video gaming. Small arms fire does not do much to him so unless every bad guy is running with rocket launchers or magnets you won't get much of a challenge.
I can honestly say I think this is one movie that will be safe from a shit video game adaptation. It's too difficult to get right. If Rockstar replies to you let us know.

That idea is really cool, but it will never happen. Rockstar is usually selling more than 5.000.000 copies of a game, so this is probably the least they are aiming for. Unless everyone here is willing to buy 100.000 copies of the game, we will never see a robocop gta.
People are just not interested in Robocop. Today I wore a "Hello my name is Officer Alex J. Murphy"-shirt and only one out of ten people knew who this was reffering to.
The only chance I see is, if you find a good modder, who can make a robocop-skin for the pc-version of gta4 and use this with cheat codes.
But even with a perfect skin, the movement of the caracter will look stupid.
Then you still need a new voice-actor and deal with the fact that Robocop will be a criminal who gets calls by his stupid girlfriends every ten minutes.
Seriously, if this game ever comes out, I will buy 20 copies to support it.

Hello. This is more a suggestion for a new game that your company should produce. It would be based off of a movie from the 1980's called "Robocop." I believe that the game in the style of the Grand Theft Auto Games would be perfect. There is a huge fan base for Robocop, and ever since the Titus company butchered the last Robocop game for XBOX, fans have been hoping for a new, better version of the game to play. And with the reboot of the Robocop movie coming out in 2013, it would be the perfect timing. You would have to stick to the original movie plot and details from the 1980's format of the movie. This would be a perfect game, and Rockstar could redeem the series.

Well, when the film had it's initial release back in 1987, the gross income for the opening weekend was $8,000,000, and $53, 424,681 in it's entire domestic run in theaters. After that it was followed by two sequels, two cartoon TV series, and one live action TV series, plus different video games and action figures. Also the three Robocop movies being put onto Blu-Ray. It was a big hit.
The one downfall that everyone in the Robocop fan base agrees on was the Robocop video game by the Titus company in 2003, and it was actually the last game they developed before they went bankrupt in 2005. The game was absolutely horrible and a disgrace to the Robocop legacy. Rockstar could do so much of a better job.
Rockstar has produced so many terrific games, the Grand Theft Auto series, the Max Payne Series (my favorite), and so many others. I feel that they would be the perfect company to resurrect the Robocop video game series.
The idea I had in mind was doing the Robocop video game in the style that you would do the Grand Theft Auto series, or most recently, Max Payne three. Giving it the third person, very realistic feeling. All the while sticking to the exact story line of the Robocop movie, or even possibly putting all three movies in the series into one game.
With the reboot of the Robocop movie coming out in 2013, I feel that this would be the perfect thing to honor that, and the entire series. The game would be a total success, because I know what you guys are capable of. Millions people around the world would love this game.

Nah, it was RoboCop 3 my man.
And it's cool that Rockstar actually replied. Although I do get the feeling that they're just being polite.

I think you are correct. But if Rockstar is really interested they have my vote.

It was definitely a polite reply. Although i like that it was not totally automated but had a personalized ending. Respect to Rockstar for that.
The cold reality is that a RoboCop game would not be financially smart at this point. Rockstar is used to selling a massive amount of games so doing such a title as RoboCop would not be in their best interest.

The game could be excellent...they could have like an hour of gameplay where you play as Murphy pre-Robocop so you get a feel of how strong weapons are and then you're in the suit taking massive quantities of damage. It could take place around the time of the films, leading to a police strike in the third act that leaves the city in Robo's hands, with him going from crime to crime in a massive outbreak of crime larger than anything the world has ever seen. It wouldn't be so much about not dying, but surviving and handling everything quickly. Of course there would be ED-209s out there to fight too. It could be the perfect game!
That will never be made unless Robo comes back with a multibillion dollar blockbuster.... _________________

I think it would work better as an original story set between movies, that way you don't have to butcher an already existing story.
And we're all forgetting something. If a video game adaptation is ever made from RoboCop it won't be from the awesome-as-balls original or it's sequel, but from the remake.

At this point, the best I think we'll see is like an Iphone/Android game based on the film, whenever that comes around, and those games vary.

This made me laugh. And it is true. As much as i love playing the GTA games the plot is much the same. It is not impossible to make it work however the game "true crime" had a similar game style but with a cop's perspective.
Ultimately though i very much doubt Rockstar would do it. It would be amazing, but highly unlikely.

I'm not sure if Rockstar would be the right people to do it. Most of their games while fun or entertaining don't really draw me in as far as stories go. GTA4 for example, by the end of the game I didn't care at all about the main character or his worthless cousin. I think they would miss the mark on the Murphy\Robo character. As for the open world setting, I also think that would water things down. Everything should be plot driven and focused on all the smaller details.

The personal response was nice from such a big company but yea, being polite me thinks too. An open world game for Robo just doesn’t seem right, cant imagining him running and it would look ridiculous. The FPP from Robocop 3D were amazing but imagine going at that pace for 6 hours. An episode style game like the way they done Sam and max, back to the future and tales of monkey island would be really nice following the story of Robo 1 closely, part one as Alex part two Robo part three after Dick Jones, now I would buy that
But alas all we can expect is piss poor throwaway version of the new remake with terrible controls and graphics to make a quick buck –sign- Think I’ll stick to my arcade machine and some sideways scrolling action.
