Hugh Laurie to Play Villain in RoboCop

Despite not being old enough (though this could easily be fixed with make-up/effects, but would more likely be reflected in the script as a younger 'Old Man') he would actually be a very solid choice. I don't really like the show House but lots of people do and I think the reason behind that is that he is a good actor. If this is true they're definitely trying to pack some popular names into, which bodes well in that they're giving this the budget it needs and having all these names in it means it will probably be highly marketed.

Meh,Not bad..I could see this..But this is all getting too be alot to take as factual I mean do the math so far 3 of the actors are sure too eat up a cosiderable amount of the films budget just in their fee alone.Are we to believe that Robocop is gonna be a 200 million dollar flick here?..

Hmm, not sure how I feel about this. I don't hate the idea at all, but I never really watched house either. Anything can be twisted enough to be amazing so I'll just let it all unfurl for now.

On a side note, I think it would be more interesting if Sam Jackson was Dick Jones or Clarence. Some snark ass Laurie just doesn't feel 100%. But like I said, he could really shine in this role just as much as Jackson as the Media Mogul.

According to a newspaper report I read today, Laurie is looking to shed his nice guy image and tackle bad guy roles, and is tempted to sign on for RoboCop as he is being offered £3.2million (roughly $5million) to do so.

What accent will he use though. His US accent in House is remarkably dodgy for me and he sounds so wrong when he talks. Perhaps an evil British accent, but then I'll be thinking of McDaggett...!
