Being PG-13 and trying to sell to the kid market is the only thing that could scare me. But at the same time, I doubt Padilha would've been chosen if that was the case. The Elite Squad films were gritty realistic police dramas focusing on political corruption. Padilha sounds like the right guy for the job to me.
Also, can somebody make a new topic about Micheal Kenneth Williams joining the crew as Murphy's partner (Lewis' Role)? Seems I don't have the privileges to post new topics here.
I'm excited about his addition, and really like him in the Wire. The cast is looking very stellar. Jay Baruchel is also on board, and I believe he'll play a OCP spokesperson (IIRC).

New Ed-209 picture!
MGM/Sony sent out a casting call notice today that they are looking for a young Canadian boy between the ages of 9 and 11 for a part in their upcoming remake of RoboCop, starring Joel Kinnaman from AMCs stellar show The Killing, along with Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish, Jay Baruchel, Jackie Earle Haley, and Gary Oldman. Auditions are on Thursday, August 30 and the role requires the boy to be available until January, 2013. If interested email a current picture, date of birth, and the name and contact number of a parent to castingfordavid@gmail.com. This is open to Canadian citizens only.
RoboCop is set to release August 9, 2013.

The redesign of ed209 is possibly the thing I can get behind the most. It refernces and expands on the original but staying true to the original design, but it still looks badass.
Not really digging the newer ocp logo however.

Hmmm, I wonder if I could pass for an 11 year old Canadian, eh?
ED still lookin' mighty fine. Personally I like the Omnicop logo. The distinction between Omnicop and Omni Consumer Products doesn't bother me. It actually makes sense that in today's day and age the company would want a flashier, easier to remember name. Omnicorp definitely sounds flashier and smoother than Omni Consumer Products. The logo is very similar. They could have gone for a redesign of the whole thing but instead chose to keep is almost exactly the same, which is a concept I hope rings true throughout the whole movie.

I agree 100%. Its good to see that they retained that design element. Even in the RoboSuit we see several elements in the design that were ported over from the original.

Cause other than that, I donīt see much from the original suit.

Overall the Omnicorp logo is fine. I'm just not in love with it.

The chin guard I think is the most obvious.
The way the forearms extend is similar in both suits.
The separation between the lower torso and chest is similar in shape.
Both the arms and legs on both suits have a circular indent at the joint.

Donīt mean to offend you my friend, but this is bullshit!
The chinguard looks nothing like the original.
Compare Original to reboot to black Power Ranger----> Power Ranger
The forearms extend the same way all forearms in every exosuit do.
The "separation" between chest and upper torso is a 1:1 copy of the ironman suit.
Speaking of it, there is hardly any separation between chest and torso. Also the chest is waaaaay too flat.
I see the dent on the upper leg and understand, that it should remind you of the original suit, but this looks just lame.
Overall, this is an ironman suit variant in black.

Indeed!
I'm sure they will have some type of new problem or defect that causes ED209 to be recalled in the new movie. Let's just hope there isn't anyone named Kenny in the movie.
