Looks like we got cheated out of a RoboCop2014 trailer yet again. Despite Director Jose Padilha claiming it would be, unfortunately, a trailer is NOT attached to "Elysium." nor has it appeared online.

This could really mean nothing at all even though it's come as a surprise,It's definitely a bummer kinda look'd forward to seeing it a second time well rested to see if I felt any different about it.

I'm getting concerned that they could consider moving it AGAIN for a later release in 2014...to me thats a more likely scenario than trying to "bury" something. You don't bury a 100M investment and on top of that the buzz following CC was good.
But for now it's best to stay calm. Nothing says you have to release the trailer at the premiere of a movie. Maybe they simply do a worldwide relase of the trailer online and to media and that's it.

Well I was going to post this on the other feed about it being attached to that movie but it was locked...but the last thing someone had said was that the studios said its to early to post a trailer cause it don't come out til Feb 2014 (being only about 6 months away) but I've seen trailers on movies in the fall that wasn't going to be released until the summer and that was more than 6 months away or see a trailer in Feb for a movie that won't be out til Sept. So I just think its Sony's way of a cop out as to why they didn't attach it to the movie

It was beer who posted that about 'what the studio said' so I wouldn't put [any] stock in it. I highly doubt that Sony/MGM told beer anything.

That actually makes sense: Robo is hyped movie. Sony knows that and to lauch a Robo trailer now and kickstart a widespread debate about Robo would have been bad as they need every spotlight to be turned to Elysium now.

August 16: Kick Ass 2: R-rated super-hero action comedy released by Universal
Paranoia: PG-13 Thriller staring Gary Oldman (Robert Norton) released by Realitivity
August 28: The World's End: R-Rated Edgar Wright Comedy
September 6: Riddick: R-Rated Action-Adventure released by Universal
September 27: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2: not yet rated but released by SONY
I can only plead with the powers that be that a trailer is not relaesed with Cloudy, RoboCop is no kids film and there should be no trailer attached to a kid film

This makes no sense, why would a trailer take the spotlight from a movie that is now in theaters? If I paid to get in and just so happened to see a trailer of Robocop, and went home and started googling RoboCop remake, well you already paid for Elysium and are now interested in this RoboCop movie, sounds like a win win to me.
And I have to ask you, what hype are you referring? Is it the the set pics with a leather holster? or the web site with no pics of RobCop?

Nah, then he would have said a date or a timeframe. Not name drop a movie that is unrelated to his movie and comes out in the same time period as a trailer.
I don't blame Jose as it's probably not his decision, but clearly something happened and they did not include a trailer with Elysium as intended.
