We'll get a trailer soon enough. I don't know of any super secret information or any seedy conspiracies like Beer, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time before the teaser is unleashed on an unsuspecting world...

Considering the crapfest that was Robocop 3, and the unwatchable PD, I don't think it is possible that any fan would consider the remake worse than that. I haven't seen a shred of official images or footage from the remake, yet I'm positive it will be better than Robocop 3. Of course, that's not saying much. Watching a turd float around in a toilet is better than Robocop 3. |
Nice. Already a much better mindset than the trekkies. Hats off
Btw for anyone who hasn't seen Star Trek Into Darkness even though it premeried quite a while back: Peter Weller got a big role. Might interest someone here. He did well and it was nice he was in a blockbuster again.

I am actually watching it tonight, fingers crossed I at least enjoy it as much as the first. After all the hate the internet has dished on it, and the spoilers I was unable to avoid, I am skeptical to say the least.

Here's a bit of work from the guys at Honest Trailers and Screen Junkies for Star Trek Into Darkness, with a nice little nod to our boy at the end...

I actually didn't watch it in the cinema because of bad buzz, choose to watch Iron Man 3 instead.
But I liked Star Trek into Darkness A LOT more than IM3. Together with Elysium my favorites of 2013.

It's already been announced that Ben Affleck is going to play Batman, and when one bit of bad news is released, people tend to release other bad news too and hope it gets swept under the carpet as everyone else is still angry at the first story.
So, if the trailer is crap then now would be the perfect time to release it. No-one will care, they're all too busy being pissed off at Warner Bros. for making Affleck Batman. _________________

This is truth, lol. I was wondering if anyone here was as bewildered as I am about casting Affleck. I don't want to go too off topic, but my anticipation meter for the Batman/Superman movie went from off the charts to non-existent in the time it takes you to say "gigli."
On the bright side, it makes you at least appreciate the casting choices they made for Robo's remake. Pretty solid.
EDIT:
Who wants to wager that we will see official pics of Affleck as Batman before we get anything official from Robocop.

At Comic Con ppl had a decent response to the footage. I don't think they are holding it back because it's bad. Must be some other reason. Getting more worried for every passing day that they will push it to a summer or late summer release because they think a february release date could be bad. That is unfortunately a sensible reason. On the other hand the sequel to 300, 300: Rise of an Empire got pushed back but still released the trailer like the same day. So who knows really. The plot thickens.
As for Ben Affleck: People are already photoshopping his face into the bat cowl as we speak. In his defense he got a fairly big chin. But I agree with the ones saying he's too famous. The audience will see Ben Affleck, not Bruce Wayne/Batman.
That's why it was great that they had the balls to pick Joel Kinnaman for a 100M budget movie. People don't know that guy. It had been dreadful with Russel Crowe or another famous face in the role. Only thing people know Kinnaman from is maybe his tv-series the Killing but there he ironically also plays a cop. So it's not gonna be a stretch to see him as Murphy. He's also been cast in 2 other big productions (as a soviet villain vs Tom Hardy in Child44 and as Liam Neesons son in some new action movie). So seems like studios expect that Robocop will propell him to a bigger name. Remains to be seen.

Why in the name of GOD did they ditch Bale ? I'd get Keaton if that was possible but Bale is without doubt the next best thing.

Why do you have to drag everything into a comparison with the new Robocop ? We get it, we REALLY do...You love whatever Pad'omighty is working on, fine, no need to bring it to every single post people make.....Just saying....

Probably because Bale doesn't want to be typecast and spend the rest of his life being Batman! He's actually been Batman in more films than anyone else now...

If I'm not mistaken this is a Robocop forum, and this thread is about the new Robocop film, the trailer in particular. It'd be a bit silly if we where talking about anything but Robocop wouldn't it!
On the trailer issue, I'm not knocking Vegas at all, but his assessment of the footage and trailer is the only negative one I can find. Everybody else has been quite positive about it. As I say, no disrespect Vegas, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I don't have one on the matter yet because I haven't seen the trailer for myself, but there's been plenty of positive noises to suggest that it may actually be okay!

Oh. Someone is relating to the robocop reboot in a thread about the trailer for said movie. Call the cops!
As for CC yeah the response was positive. So many journalists and professional movie critics there who gave a positive response. It's clearly needed to look for neutral sources. The Star Trek example is some recent proof of the sour grapes held when it comes to reboots.
Luckily soon everyone can make their own assessment and that's what we're all waiting for. That's when the real fun begins

Where are you seeing all these great response's?..And to be fair All I did was describe the trailer in detail as best as I could,I feel I was fair in my assessment,I find it interesting that it's being said here how positive of a response the trailer got from people who obiviously were not in attendance..And trust me I wanted it to be great!..13 hr.s or so overnight in line sleeping in the grass was not done just to bag on the film.
