I don't recall vegas' own assessment being overly negative. But it certainly wasn't positive either. I think it mostly neutral though he did give some thoughts as I expected he would and indeed that weren't glowing but at least he actually saw something. I think it was a fair assessment and certainly shouldn't be dismissed. Sure everyone has opinions but forgive me if I put a bit more stock in vegasrobo than some other Joe Nobody on the internet who may or not have been there and may or may not more more stake in having a positive opinion published.

Thanks Stan,Yeah,You know it was real hard for me not to fall into the hate thing after seeing the Trailer,Thats why I tried to hit on the good points as I saw it of the trailer,Again it's my opinion,And it's hard to be super descriptive of something you saw to help someone else paint a picture of what you had seen from an objective point of view..But I can tell you factually that Hall H crowd did not react with the zeal that's been claimed here.It was a very flat reaction,Here's an example the frickin Veronica Mars panel got a stronger reaction then Robo..Now many week's later and the lack of the release of that "trailer" at SDCC I'm wondering if that was fully completed material they showed it was definitely in trailer form..

Fair enough. But the same critics love to tear films a new one if footage disappoints.
Judging from the responses a lot of neutral people entered and expected a trainwreck. Wasn't much released before CC and lots of negative buzz like the new robocop was some sort of rubber batman ninja. Then when they exited they said it didn't look bad and sounded like an interesting take on the character. I don't think there would be any mercy whatsoever if it did look bad. So many online critics that get more hits for being negative. If given a chance to totally throw something under the bus I don't think they will hold back just because it's Robocop.

If I'm not mistaken this is a Robocop forum, and this thread is about the new Robocop film, the trailer in particular. It'd be a bit silly if we where talking about anything but Robocop wouldn't it!
On the trailer issue, I'm not knocking Vegas at all, but his assessment of the footage and trailer is the only negative one I can find. Everybody else has been quite positive about it. As I say, no disrespect Vegas, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I don't have one on the matter yet because I haven't seen the trailer for myself, but there's been plenty of positive noises to suggest that it may actually be okay! |

I don't feel like defending Elysium is needed. It was a kickass movie.
Defending Padilha? He's not gonna care that some random internet guy(s) doesn't like him.
So what about contributing to the topic and if not having anything to contribute with I don't think Padomighty and his brazilian thugs are in your house forcing you to read the thread. If the buttpain is to big, make yourself a favor and stay away from the reboot threads, easy solution

Still not sure how somebody can be excited that an R-Rated Sci Fi film that's actually pretty good is a flop after being released for a month!!
Robovegas, on another note, I owe you an apology, re-read you're description of the trailer and it appears that I've been a bit of a mong in saying that you where negative about it! No hard feelings eh?

I relly dint think it was R-rated I thought it was a pg-13 movie wooooooow if this is R-rated I fear for the new Robocop..........I saw this movie last week and thought it sucked big time the best thing I thought was the robots.......Hollywood never learns

Just when i though we're getting to a next level here The idiotic behaviour in this board went overboard once again.. After having topics opened under my name, edited posts, PM disabled, now someone from the ultra biased moderation of this forum once again broke into my account and altered the comment line in my profile. I must have hit a nerve somewhere cause this must have been the ultimate, cheapest attempt to harm me here and yes, whoever did that is just a chicken shit coward that refused to fight with equal terms. Kind of tired of that and i guess next time i'm leaving for good.. don't really want to take part in that anymore
