Or even a special edition with deleted / extended scenes, documentary and the usualy stuff they give films these days. A 4k master would be lovely too, but I doubt whoever has the rights will bother. Sadly. _________________

if anyone is interested, check out the Pictures and Video Topics, in the Robo 1 HD pictures thread I posted some screencaps of the new Remaster! It doesn't even capture how FANTASTIC the thing looks in person. Im overjoyed with the quality.

I guess I'm really late to post on this forum but I was considering getting the 4k edition just for the coupon for $7.50 off the ticket price to see robocop in theaters. The blu ray itself is about 8 bucks so its almost like getting soemthign fro free if my ticet will cost $14 regardless.
My question is,the trilogy blu ray that was released recently before the 4k,is it the same quality as the new 4k or is it significantly better quality that any previous releases?
Also.I hated the cover art for this release for so many reasons. The blue tinted armor was in robocop 2 now 1 which was all stainless steel. The typeface used was for the new robocop movie not the classical original. Here's what I would have done to the cover and might replace it with if I get it.

If you're going to change anything, I'd use the original poster art or one of the alternatives found here - http://www.themoviedb.org/movie/5548-robocop/posters
That horrible photoshop is a disgrace. Whoever made it clearly didn't care, and the sad thing is that the people who it was sent to for approval didn't seem to either.
Here are three (four) incredibly shit knock-ups I made there now in Paint.net, and I think if done properly, would be great covers for all 3 movies for BluRay released. At least the pictures have proper RoboCop logos and are from the respective movies, not RoboCop 2 images used for every film like they have done before!
RoboCop:-
RoboCop 2 - Cover 1:-
RoboCop 2 - Cover 2:-
RoboCop 3:-

I love that cover using the original poster of Robo stepping out of the car. I love this bluray and can't believe it was only $8 at Best Buy. I would of paid 4 times that. Even if the cover is lacking.

Paddy those covers are absolutely ideal, they are a bit too stretched but like you said, they are rough. Love em!

Totally rough edits, I knocked those together in a spare 5 mins I had in work the other day. If someone had proper full size images and some decent photo editing software I'm sure they could knock up a decent looking custom insert people could download and print off to replace the crappy one MGM have done. _________________

What would be the point of a new 4K remaster if it didn't improve the PQ ?

Archive : | This is the Japanese edition. As you can see it has the classic poster for a cover but unfortunately half-assed it and slapped the ugly logo on it. What a waste.
|
I really want to pre-order the Japanese edition but am having trouble with Amazon.jp
Very frustrating!

I'm not sure what that custom cover is above, it doesn't work for me,
but here's another classic cover people may be interested in, can be found within the link!

I Love it, except the use of the hot toys figure, but even that is still badass so it's all good lol.
