I think they are..... hideous.
That Robo3 cover is so weird. How is he holding that gun. Is it supposed to be the gunarm?

That same cover/pose was also in the original UK trilogy DVD box set. _________________

I've always wondered what was up with that Robo 3 image that has shown up on covers/promotional material from time to time. It looks like some sort of alternate handgun to the Auto 9.... I've always wondered if it was just a special prop that accentuated the front view of the auto 9. If that pistol was aimed straight at the camera, I think all the parts would line up to make it look like the front of the Auto 9, which is the image we got for the official RoboCop 3 poster/cover when it was first released.
I have no idea though, it's always baffled me.

Yep. I was going to say the same. The Spanish edition had that weird hand/gunarm mix too.

Somebody took a picture of the auto-9 and a picture of the gun arm, cut em up with scissors and put them in a photoshop blender, hit purée, wadded it all up into a spitball and shot it toward the R3 cover art. And voila!

Same here, I remember first seeing it years ago. Baffled me then too. Still baffles me now. That said -
