Hello, everyone I am brand new to the forum.

I would like to share these two pics for all fans of Robocop 2. Specifically Australian fans of the film. The reason I thought this would interest people is because the VHS box cover for Robocop 2 was the only one different than the american covers and I actually like this cover much more than the others. The front picture is a mirrored image I think and is on a european dvd release of the film.

The only place that I can currently find these pics on the net is on ebay.com.au but the quality of my uploads is much better. I saved it from a ebay a couple of years ago. The page was removed after the VHS was sold.

Thanks guys.

Of course I'm used to the iconic Robo through the wall image and personally really like the Robo head closeup with the shadow of RoboCAIN, but this does look pretty cool.

I can't help but think I've seen this shot in some form or other elsewhere though.. still, this is a neat find! Thanks for sharing, and welcome, of course. Wink

Always neat to see covers from other countries. There's something really cool about the "2" on the logo - kinda makes it more "80s" and brings a sort of "cheaper action-flick" feel to it, but it's still pretty kickass.

This is the VHS cover we had here in Bulgaria, the picture is a thumbnail of a high-res scan I'd uploaded on the board some years ago.

@Stan The Man - I'm guessing you most likely recognise the image from the promo poster with Summer 1990 across the top. Here is the pics.

It was also used on this VHS my Tri-Star Columbia

The main difference is that on the Australian cover it's a mirrored image. What makes the Aussie cover cool is it's the only boxart I have seen anywhere on the Robocop releases with the number 2 stylized that way.

This is the cover most aussies would be familiar with of Robocop 2. It's the only one I remember seeing. It may have been re-released later in the late 90's with one of the standard american covers but I never saw it. This was the original 1990 cover from Roadshow Entertainment that was everywhere.

@ RoboFan_93 Interesting that the pic of Robocop on the Bulgaria VHS cover is a reversed/mirrored cover just like the Australian one. The Australian cover is my favourite amongst all the VHS, DVD covers that I have seen. The number 2 is indeed very 80's because maybe you most recognise it from Leathal Weapon 2. Yes, the colours are different and the Robocop cover has a blue shadow but it's still the same font.

@Edd 209 Good to know I am not the only one from down under on here. I am from Bendigo in Victoria.

I first heard of Robocop when Robocop 2 aired in Australia on free to air television in 1994. This was possibly the first time it was shown on australian free - to - air television. You can correct me if I am wrong. Here is the Australian ad for it. I believe this is the same telecast I saw. Notice the number 2 are stylised the same as the VHS cover.

That's a pretty cool TV spot. And again, it's neat that it uses the LW-style "2".

Yeah, I've seen that style of 2 before on some other posters, but its likely most known for Lethal Weapon 2. Nice to see some other covers from around the world. Our version was the Robo walking through the hole in the wall which I think is such a cool cover. Even the Series box set modified the colours and used it for their cover also.

On a side note, images of Robo copied direct from RoboCop 2 appear in the SNES & Genesis/MegaDrive games of RoboCop Vs. The Terminator and RoboCop 3. I was convinced one of them was this pic from the Aussie cover, but it's something similar.

Here's a trailer for what I assume is an Australian TV channel showing the movie Oat 8:30pm too interestingly!) It's using the same logo as the VHS cover.
