Just bought 3 cheap Neca figures off ebay with a view to making them into custom figures. They are all the flaming rocket launcher video game figures.

Any ideas of what I should turn them into?

Was thinking maybe painting them red, white and yellow to make them into the Emergency Response figures from Toy Island?

https://www.figurerealm.com/actionfigure?action=seriesitemlist&id=187&figures=robocoptoyislan

Or maybe paint one darker colours to make RoboCable?

Or maybe hack one up to make it Robocop after Cain chops him up?

Never done any customising before so any tips would be appreciated.

This is the best idea I have ever heard. Those figures are near and dear to my heart, I only ever had the white one but loved The Emergency Response team is a a virtually unknown and utterly unimportant part of Robo's history, not based on a cartoon or anything, but it is a fun footnote. My original thought was Robocable, but I like your idea much better and since you have three it is perfect! Looking forward to seeing whatever you do with them.

Personally, I'd probably try to do different styles of paintjob for each - kind of like what Neca themselves did with their video-game line of figures. Make a "comic-book" Robo, a "Marvel Cartoon" Robo, etc...

But the idea of the Emergency Response team is appealing. Heck, as a 90s kid, I can't help but have fondness for nonsensical neon-coloured versions of my favourite characters in toy form Very Happy

Yeah I've seen a couple of "cartoon" customs online that other people have done - to the point of putting in a cap firing mechanism in the back. I'm just not a fan of the silver pants look they used for the cartoon.

Anyway, my figures just arrived in the post today. I'm thinking it's got to be the Emergency Response team because it's a simple-ish change to make and I've got three of them. Going to look for some stuff I can use to make the weird missile arms they came with.

One tricky bit is that they are all the rocket launcher video game figures and I didn't realise they use the beaten up "battle damage" Robocop mould. Might have to "repair" them first. Or could keep them with the beaten up look. Not sure yet.

Will post some pictures as soon as I get started.
