Josh : | Plot twist, it's Robert Boddicker. |
If he´s him, the writer is a hardcore RoboNerd who could give what fans wanted. He knows the good stuff.

Throw in a bit of furniture of law enforcement for good measure and it's all gravy.

ChAnOoD : | The "Don´t you remember me?" line worries me a little bit, since it seems to fall into the same New Guy In Town plot, somebody from the past (or "related" to somebody from the past) appearing again. But it´s a trailer, so we could only speculate at the moment. |
For me the first thing I was reminded of was PD. Robo's enemy is his former partner, and he has a lot of flashbacks to back before he died. It's the same plot as PD, and the premise of controlling Robo is quite similar to the New Guy in Rogue City. However, while there are a lot of similarities, its a decent premise so I understand the reasoning. PD had some good ideas that fell very short, so maybe this game can offer a better take on the same story. I'd be willing to bet the bad guy turns into some kind of cyborg at the end too.
Also, I don't know if you guys noticed, but there was a press release that revealed more details that weren't shown in the trailer. One thing that stood out to me:
Quote: | In addition to RoboCop and Alex Murphy, you will have the opportunity to play as Miranda and others throughout the story of Unfinished Business. These vignettes will delve deeper into the story, giving you a better understanding of how far people are willing to go for their ideals and how if RoboCop ends up coming for you, then perhaps you’ve gone too far. |
I love the idea of playing as regular cop Alex Murphy, but can't say I ever wanted to play as a totally different character in a RoboCop game. So this idea seems a little weird, but I liked the storytelling in Rogue City so I look forward to seeing how they will flesh Robo's Detroit from other POVs. I also like how this tower is where the people kicked out of their homes are being sent to. They also showed an image of a ninja samurai like the one in RoboCop 3 on the Steam page, so it looks like Unfinished Business will be leading right into RoboCop 3 much like Rogue City picked up right after RoboCop 2. Overall I like most of the ideas they have shown for this game. I loved Rogue City but it was far from flawless, so I think Unfinished Business could be step up with a bit more focus and polish.

I have a quick question about the game. I haven’t played it but I saw it on YouTube and l liked the entire storyline. If this takes place between the second and third film, why did they give Lewis short hair like in the first film and the same characters and look of the precinct that was from the original movie?

I reckon it's because those particular looks are the most iconic. I'm pretty sure that while a lot of people have seen the first film, a lot of them wouldn't have bothered with the sequels.

Well I guess Weller phoning it in a second time is better than no Weller at all... _________________

Haha.
Well, his voice isn't in the new trailer so you're safe for now!

They forgot to put him a wig!
More Dredd vibes in this one, with the OmniTower being a residential place and such.

I saw a new gameplay video that didn't show too much different, but the guy said there is a part where you can control an ED-209. I'm here for it.

Oh. That could be really nice. But I´m afraid there will be a bunch of stairs in that segment

I'm looking forward to seeing Teyon's interpretation of ED's HUD. One of my favourite little details in Rogue City was as you damaged ED you could see it's inner workings, including a big fuck off engine under the dome.

I'm probably jumping the gun on this, but I get the feeling we might be getting another Robo game in the near future...
In a new interview regarding their "Terminator 2D: No Fate" game, the Bitmap Brothers mention being in talks about other licenses and working on something "in the same ballpark"... with a RoboCop figure being visible in the background.
Could all be wishful thinking on my part though.

Oh, yeah. I just found that video on my feed and I thought it´d be cool to remake some of the old Ocean titles as they´re doing with Terminator. I meant, redo the older games in a more cool, poignant way. The first RoboCop had decent games, but Robo 2 and 3 weren´t that good. I remember NES´s RoboCop 2 where Murphy had slippery feet, or the 16 bit version of RoboCop 3 where difficulty is over the place and you can´t find the fun factor anywhere.
I guess Robo 3 would be the best choice for a "remake", since RoboCop 2 had a fun arcade adaptation, but since most of the people like to hate on the third one I think they´d go for the second film.
Anyway, new RoboStuff is always good for me!
